cold salad: that what we've been calling this. we've eaten this salad a lot lately. tomatoes, cucumber and basil with olive oil and rice vinegar.

lunch: i always try to keep leftovers so i have lunch the next day. this was quinoa, garbanzo beans, tomato and basil with balsamic and olive oil. (the tomatoes and basil were in my produce box from fresh abundance.)

Day 83: Colorsplash
July 26, 2009: This is the new centerpiece that Ian and I bought today. I also bought an app for the iPhone called Colorsplash, where it allows you to make these grey pictures where you just highlight whatever object you want with color. So here you go: The colorsplashed coffee candle centerpiece.
Day 82: Baby Nevaeh
July 25, 2009: I went to Nevaeh's first birthday party today. As well as to my mom's, out to lunch with Carolyn, to my brother's, and met up with some of my youth kids. On my way home, I nearly ran out of gas in the middle of nowhere and barely made it to Sprague. I had a good day, but I was very glad to be home and go to bed.
Day 81: First iPhone picture!
July 24, 2009: I got my new iPhone today! This is the very first picture, taken in the parking lot of the AT&T store.
Day 80: Baby Morgan
July 23, 2009 (I missed a day): This is my boss's new baby, Morgan. I know you wouldn't necessarily know it by looking at her, but this baby is six days old.

July 20, 2009: This is my second squash blossom, because they only bloom for one day, and I missed the first one. Isn't it beautiful? Fingers crossed that it'll turn into a squash!

Day 76: Nerd-fest
July 17, 2009 (I missed a day): I know I'm super-nerdy, but this just jazzed me. I threw the chocolate-fondue tablecloth into the little washer, and when it was done, it came out as a perfect round circle. It looked like a cookie to me.
Day 75: Wednesday night dinner version chocolate fondue
July 15, 2009 (I missed four days): April and Becky came over for dinner, and Becky brought her two kids, Connor and Haley. We barbecued for dinner, but for the special treat for the night, we did chocolate fondue. The kids especially had a great time!
Day 74: Bridal Shower
July 11, 2009 (I missed a week): My bridal shower at Kathy's house. It was, of course, one hell of an elegant party with fantastic food that Kathy self-deprecatingly barely took credit for. I had a wonderful time!
Day 73: First annual 4th of July barbecue!
July 4, 2009: Some of the chaos from having an invite-all barbecue in a one-bedroom apartment, especially with it being too hot to utilize any outdoor space. Nonetheless, it was a lot of fun. :)
Day 72: The ottoman
July 3, 2009: There's one of the two ottomans I ordered from WalMart. It looks so great in my living room with my couch. I really like the contrasting textures from the couch to the ottoman.
Day 71: Pow-wow
July 2, 2009: Since July 4 was on a Saturday, we got July 3rd off, and therefore had our Independence Day barbecue on the 2nd. And since April, FeMary and I all cover each other's lunch hour, we decided to get lunch and bring it back to the office to eat. So here we are. Lunching.
Day 70: The Fly
July 1, 2009: You can't tell from this picture, but this fly was giant. It was the only picture I took on this day.
Day 69: Storage issues
June 30, 2009 (I missed a day): This is the interior of our tiny storage closet at work. It's maybe the size of the closet you had when you were a kid, and I'm splitting it with HR. Needless to say, we could use more space.
Day 68: BFF!
June 27, 2009: Carolyn came over to help me pick out wedding makeup. She was just here for a few hours, but I'm glad she came. I don't get to spend enough time with her.
Day 67: Christmas in June
June 26, 2009: The end of the month is the boring part at work. So I went down to Activities and asked if there were something that I could help with. The activities director gave me a stack of Christmas cards to cut up and repurpose for the residents. And when I was working on them, I found this card: A standard snowy Christmas village with a standard Christmas greeting inside... And a stork in the sky?!
Day 66: Ice cream therapy
June 25, 2009: Ice cream with hot fudge in one of our new bowls we got for our wedding. :)
Day 65: Crowspeak
June 24, 2009: (I missed a day!) Two crows were talking to each other outside my window at work. It was just a scene that I liked.
Day 64: In-house laundry
June 22, 2009: Here's the tiny washing machine we're borrowing from my mom. Without a dryer, its uses for us is limited, but it's great for towels, washcloths, cloth napkins, socks and underwear. Which extends the time between needing to go to the laundry room--can't beat that!

rocket cakes: the rocket market has vegan cupcakes!! i had two (!) today with my friend, amy and they were sooo good!! that's a raspberry chocolate cupcake with decadent chocolate ganache. yumm!

wizard rock: ben and i had a great time at the wizard rock concert at the library. this is the drummer/saxophonist from the remis lupins. as my friend, becky so accurately said, he is a real dreamboat.

soymilk: we made our first batch of homemade soymilk! the taste is different from the commercially produced stuff, so it will take some getting used to. i don't ever just drink a glass of soymilk though and i can't tell the difference when i eat my cereal. i can't wait to try making tofu!

envy: i wish i had a balcony like that. i joined up with a group of friends to check out the first friday art openings. as we walked from downtown to browne's addition, i snapped a picture of this building. spokane has some interesting architecture.

clothing swap: the shrinking violets had a clothing swap. i was able to unload a lot of my unworn clothes and walked away with a summer dress and two tops - all for $4!

$398: that's how much we managed to raise for one world spokane with our humble little bake sale! we used the jar 'o money as a center piece at our celebratory potluck.
