envy: i wish i had a balcony like that. i joined up with a group of friends to check out the first friday art openings. as we walked from downtown to browne's addition, i snapped a picture of this building. spokane has some interesting architecture.

so close: i received the invitation in the mail today! i can't believe your wedding is in just a couple of months!!

clothing swap: the shrinking violets had a clothing swap. i was able to unload a lot of my unworn clothes and walked away with a summer dress and two tops - all for $4!

day sixty-nine - 6.27.09
more baking: after almost selling out on our first night, we returned to the kitchen saturday morning. colleen helped me make fudgacado.
day sixty-eight - 6.26.09
aki: on the first night of the bake sale we had a canine friend hang out with us for a while. aki's human family were in the theater next door watching a slide show, so we kept an eye on her for them. she only had three legs. she was super sweet.
day sixty-seven - 6.25.09
bake, bake, bake: in preparation for the vegan bake sale, a group of us got together to bake the goodies. we probably made almost 100 cupcakes over the course of the weekend (plus thursday).

lentil chili mole: colleen and i made dinner for the family on father's day. we were going to follow this recipe, but they didn't have any cumin in the house. we improvised and it turned out great! my step-dad paired it (wonderfully) with china bend's nouveau. yum.

chocolate: the weather was so nice for ben's little party, but it was just warm enough to melt the frosting on the cupcakes. ben made a mess of himself.

day twenty-two - 5.11.09
sustainable spokane: ben and i rode our bikes down to city hall for the city council meeting. the sustainability action plan was on the agenda and a decision was due from the council. these green stickers were given out for people to show support. council president, shogan mistakenly took the stickers to be political/campaign material and ordered everyone to remove them or leave the chambers. upon further inspection, he found them to be harmless symbols of free speech and allowed them. rather appropriately, i stuck mine on my helmet.

ART: this was the mark i got from going to the invitation only art show that was part of, but separate from, the first friday "stuff". i'm surprised the ink didn't melt away from all my sweating after dancing in my black polyester dress! milonga rocks!
